Erin Pelton, part of the Biden-Harris Administration has moved out of the White House to join e-commerce giant Shopify. She will oversee communications and public affairs globally for Shopify. Pelton served as a Special Assistant to the President and Chief of Staff, Domestic Policy Council at The White House. She took to Twitter to announce the same.
“Some News: after an amazing run in the Biden Admin, I’m heading to @Shopify to oversee communications and public affairs globally. I’m thrilled to join a company that is such a powerful engine of innovation, removing barriers for millions of businesses around the world,” Pelton wrote on the micro-blogging site.

Past Experience
Pelton co-founded Puerto Rico Live before serving in the Biden-Harris Administration. Puerto Rico Live is a social enterprise that aims to connect US thought leaders to Puerto Rico.
A US Foreign Service Officer until 2014, Pelton has worked as Deputy Spokesperson for the Bureau of Near Eastern Affairs at the US Department of State, Assistant Press Secretary and Director of Communications and Media Relations at the National Security Council, Director of Communications and Spokesperson at the United States Mission to the United Nations and overseas at the US Embassies in Mexico and Saudi Arabia.

Congratulatory messages poured in as soon as she shared the news on Twitter. “Big congrats to you Erin on this next career milestone. Thank you for all you’ve done to serve our county so consistently through public service,” wrote a user. People associated with Shopify also expressed their excitement to have her onboard. “Huge congrats and welcome to Shopify!,” wrote Chaz Moore, senior product designer at Shopify.
Allan Leinwand, CTO of the company replied, “Welcome aboard!”. “Welcome to the team! We are so lucky to have you,” wrote Twitter user Dion Almaer, working with Shopify.
