Grow with ShopDigest. Programs for experts, developers and store owners.
Four screens, two people. The store owner posts, experts reply publicly with a short note, and the first proper conversation happens in the existing messages inbox — nothing new to learn, no bidding, no payments.
On the project detail page, signed-in experts get one reply box. Short, plain text, no attachments and no price field — the goal is to start a conversation, not to submit a bid.
We sell furniture and the current product page cannot handle variants with different lead times. Looking for someone to rebuild the template properly rather than patch it again.
All replies sit under the project in the owner dashboard. Nothing is ranked or scored. The owner opens a conversation with the ones worth talking to and ignores the rest.
“Message” opens the normal ShopDigest inbox with the project attached to the top of the thread, so neither side has to re-explain what it is about. This is the same inbox used for every other conversation on the site — projects do not get a separate messaging system.
Terms are agreed between the two of them — ShopDigest does not quote, invoice or hold money. The owner marks who they hired, which closes the project, stops new replies and lets everyone who replied know where it landed.
An expert cannot message an owner out of the blue. The only way in is a reply to a project, and only the owner can turn that reply into a conversation. Once a thread exists, both sides can write freely.
New replies show as a notification and a count on the dashboard. Digest by default — one email a day rather than one per reply, so a popular project does not flood the inbox.
The project and the number of replies are public. The reply text and every message are private between the two of them.
