Shopify is currently facing a technical glitch as buyers are unable to checkout and are stuck in a cart loop. Reportedly, the checkout process is bugged. Users complained that the transaction process couldn’t be completed as it is getting stuck on the cart page. Several users took to Twitter and other platforms to file their grievances related to the cart loop. Shopify support assured to look into the matter and fix it.
A Twitter user wrote, “@ShopifySupport HELP! Running my store since 2017. Currently, the checkout button just loops back to the cart page. Have tried multiple themes to no avail. Multiple customers trying to check out”. Responding to the tweet, Shopify support wrote, “Hey, Jenny. We are aware and are currently investigating this ongoing matter. We will inform you once we have more information available. We appreciate your patience and understanding about this. -Daniel”.

When another user named Tahlia Mandie asked for the update, Shopify support replied, “We truly understand the urgency of the matter and will provide an update as soon as this is resolved. -Victoria”.
On community.shopify.com, one wrote, “Customers can not checkout for some reason at the moment. They can add items to cart but every time you click on checkout, it just re-loads to the cart and will not proceed to checkout … any ideas?”.
“Hey team, I have published three backup themes and they are all producing the same effect. Adding a product to cart cart and hitting checkout has got my site in a constant loop of reloading the cart. I can’t seem to find a fix. I uninstalled some recent apps, and widgets. But it just happened tonight out of nowhere with no changes made today,” wrote another.

According to piunikaweb.com, a workaround has been reported to help complete the transaction. One can try modifying a section of the code on the ‘cart’ page before Shopify confirms resolving the issue.
By the time this report was published, there was no further update on Twitter from Shopify support.
