What causes a Liquid error to appear on my store?
Usually a theme file is calling something that no longer exists, such as a snippet deleted when an app was uninstalled, or a code edit contains a mistake. The message normally names the file involved, which gives a developer a starting point. Ask them to fix the reference rather than hide the message, so the feature that depended on it works again, and to test the change on a duplicate theme first.
Why did my store break after a theme update?
Theme Store updates arrive as an updated copy of your theme. Settings made in the theme editor carry over, and code edits do too unless they conflict with the new version, in which case Shopify tells you they could not be included. Apps that edited theme files can also stop working on the new copy. A developer can compare the versions, move the missing code across and test the copy before you publish it.
Why did conversion tracking stop after my checkout upgrade?
Checkout extensibility no longer runs the additional scripts that used to sit on the Thank you and Order status pages. Tracking now runs through pixels in customer events, either app pixels from channels such as Google & YouTube or custom pixels you add yourself. A developer can rebuild your purchase events as pixels, check they reach GA4 and your ad platforms, and remove duplicate tags that inflate conversions.
