Bondi Born
We began by identifying international markets and working with Shopify to correctly set up a ccTLD to separate US and Australian audiences. ccTLD is “country code top-level domain”, for example, .au at the end of a website URL. We educated the Bondi Born team on the negative effects of an automatic geo IP redirect and were able to remove the redirect and implement localised hreflang tags.

Inside the project
A ccTLD to split Bondi Born's US and Australian audiences
The work started with identifying Bondi Born's international markets. Megantic Pty Ltd then worked with Shopify to correctly set up a country code top-level domain (ccTLD), such as .au at the end of a URL, so US and Australian shoppers are served as separate audiences.
Replacing a geo IP redirect with localised hreflang tags
Bondi Born's store was using an automatic geo IP redirect. Megantic explained its negative effects to the Bondi Born team, and the redirect was removed. In its place, Megantic implemented localised hreflang tags.
